5 Months and Baby Blessed!

Whew! It has been a CRAZY month, which is why this post is a few days late. Liam turned five months old this past Sunday, so I figure if I at least get this posted by the end of the week, that should be fine.

Liam had a very eventful month!

I'll start with the big stuff and then go on to the little things.

Liam met my sister Brillante and her kids Shae, Belén, and Emery on his 4 month birthday (which means that they barely missed making it into last month's post).

Emery is the youngest cousin on the Kretchman side of the family, but only by a little over a month!

Emery looks bigger than Liam in this picture, but it's just the angle

Liam kept smacking Emery in the face when were were trying to take pictures of them laying down

Liam had his first ER visit this month! Jonathan and I were out running errands and my parents were watching Liam. We were driving home when they called and told me that Liam's ear was bleeding and that they thought that he had an ear infection. By the time we got home, his ear was full of dried blood. Urgent Cares were closed, so Dad and I took him to the ER. Dad wasn't allowed to come in, so waited in the car. Liam was actually pretty cheerful the whole time.

They cleaned out the blood and looked in both ears. His eardrums looked fine, but they could see where the blood was coming from. The little goober had scratched himself inside of his ear and it bled a ton. So they put some Bacitracin on it and sent us home. Mom was horrified, but to be fair, if it WAS an ear infection, we didn't want to mess with it and possibly make it worse. In the future though, I will definitely gently clean the blood first *insert facepalm here*

I noticed while we were sitting here that his nails needed
to be cut again. Didn't realize that it was foreshadowing.
And not to worry, I wore a mask anytime
someone came into the room.

Liam finally had his baby blessing on August 2nd. He finally got to meet some family from Jonathan's side of the family! Dad Laulusa, Aunt Suki, Uncle Josh, and cousin Kaelyn came for the weekend so that they could be here for the blessing. MANY others Zoomed in to watch.

Funny story, Jonathan and I both tried to surprise each other by inviting our friend/mentor/role model Sister Lord (top left corner) to watch. I invited her first and told her not to tell Jonathan so that it would be a surprise, but then she texted me an hour or two before the blessing to tell me that Jonathan had called and invited her and wanted to surprise ME. So I just told him and we all had a good laugh over it.

Liam experienced his first bonfire and was completely entranced. I didn't get a good picture of him staring into the flames, but I think I have a video of it somewhere.

Fun fact: Uncle Josh knew that I was pregnant with
Liam before Jonathan did. Whoops.
Grandpa Laulusa got lots of Liam snuggles while he was here

These next two pictures were taken on the same day:

Like father....
...like son.
Hanging out with Cousin Kaelyn!

He wore this onesie just for Aunt Suki
Just a week later my side of the family had our second ever family reunion! The Kretchman's got here first and met Liam for the first time.

Liam got to go to Hershey Chocolate World for the first time with Uncle Scott, Aunt Laura, and cousin Rylan and he even rode in the singing cow factory tour!

Aunt Laura got him this Hershey onesie! She didn't get to see it on him though because (as you can see in the picture) he peed out the side of his diaper onto the onesie

Next the Self's came to join the party! We did another little bonfire and played outdoor games. We had to chase the shade to keep the babies in it

Uncle Philip got some really good pictures of the babies!

I LOVE this one!!!

He took some cousin/grandparent pictures too!

Sweet little Rylan isn't accustom to holding babies and was so focused on the silly picture that he didn't notice Liam slowly leaning forward into a face plant. I'm SO glad that Scott got some pictures of the action! I was inside cooking but cracked up when Mom came in and told me about it

Going...

...going...
...gone.
Grandpa to the rescue!
There we go!
Watching Scott with Liam was pretty much the cutest thing ever.

When I first handed Liam off to Scott, selfie attempts immediately commenced

The comb-over is strong with this one

Now for the little things.

Liam started being able to sit up in the Bumbo a little bit and looked HUGE to me doing it

We started leaving one arm out the the swaddle, then two, then variable because there was so much going on

He looks so stoic to me in these pictures for some reason

Ready to brave the arm out sleep
Success!!!

He's still chomping on everything like nobody's business. He loves to chomp burp cloths, daddy's tie, anyone's fingers, etc.

We pulled out this giraffe thing that someone gave us and it's been a hit! He loves to chew on it and just move it around...

Including onto his own face.

Doesn't only apply to the giraffe though.

Seeing first-hand why you're not supposed to have blankets in the crib with the baby at night. Speaking of sleep...  Liam still falls asleep in some pretty strange positions at times:

We all spend a lot of time on the floor these days:

Now for some miscellaneous stuff:

Still loving that boob-juice
Trying out an outfit that a friend sent me before we even knew the gender

Looks like he's wearing hammer pants

Zorro also discovered the Pack and Play and spent a few days in there
Liam's celebrity look-a-like photo

Guru kid!
Though we think that he also looks a LOT like me as a baby:

For those of you who wonder if he's always happy...

...I can assure you that he definitely is not. I have yet to capture his perfect frowny face though.

Some Mommy time <3

Bonus pictures! I forgot to have Philip get a good picture of Liam in his baby blessing outfit (only slightly altered from the original), so I put him back in it later and attempted to get a decent picture. It didn't quite work out, but what can you do? A few of them turned out okay :)

I was hoping that my less-than-perfect phone camera
wouldn't capture the huge spit-up wet spot. No dice.

Naturally the picture with the best smile ended up being this one:

But this one (the one from the top) turned out pretty dang cute!

Happy Five Months (and one week... Whoops!) Liam!!!
