October was particularly rough (even for 2020) and my laptop broke, so I never managed to get a 7 month post put together. And then it kept getting pushed off and then I was late for the 8 month post as well. So I'm playing catch up now.
So here's Liam's 6-7 month post!
Liam had a lot of firsts! He started eating real (mostly mushed) food, got his first little haircut, swung in a swing at the park for the first time, moved up to using a big boy towel (because his cute little hooded ones weren't cutting it anymore), saw Daddy in uniform for the first time (Jonathan has been tele-drilling since Liam was born), and went on vacation for the first time (meaning that he got to meet more of the Laulusa side of the family finally!)
He really likes eating the bibs. Especially the silicon bibs (which we've ended up using more because they're easier to wash) |
Liam's first food was baby oatmeal mixed with breastmilk |
We only tried peas once. He's clearly traumatized. He was so sweet though and kept leaning in to eat it even though he clearly hated it. |
He really likes eating out of this mesh thingy. We've done bits of apple, strawberry, mashed potatoes, bananas, etc in there |
Because he balded so strangely, he ended up with a mop of SUPER long hair right at the front (and a bitty chunk on one side). So we finally had grandma give it a trim. He still has some really long baby hairs in the back that pop up every so often, but they generally just blend in with with rest of his hair. |
I don't have a picture of him in the swing, only a video. But this is us at the park that said swinging happened at |
Getting all wrapped up in his big boy towel is one of his absolute favorite things (not that you can tell from his expression in these pictures)
| This one just cracks me up |
| I'm slightly obsessed with this picture |
Ah, yes. This was the month that Liam was REALLY into sticking his tongue out. |
Instead of being all smiley with his cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents, his default was tongue out |
| So this is tongue out with cousin Vivi |
| Tongue out with Grandma Laulusa |
| Tongue out with me |
| And tongue out with Uncle Jared |
| Liam with Aunt Val |
Aunt Suki was the baby whisperer on this trip. She got both Liam AND Jaron to go to sleep |
It was pretty funny watching Liam with Jaron. He's never had competition for his toys before (Emery was too little to steal toys when she was here). Jaron also kept smacking him in the head. I think that it was good for Liam to experience not being the center of attention. And watching Jaron move around like a boss made me both excited for Liam to start crawling and also grateful that he's not there yet, haha |
| Photo credit goes to Suki for these next few! |
I was really impressed with how well Liam did with his first beach experience! |
| His favorite part was playing in the towel though |
And then taking a nap in it
One of my favorite moments from the trip though was coming back from our adults only dinner to find Liam like this:
The older cousins babysat the younger cousins so we could all go out to eat and when asked if it was okay to put a sleeping Liam on the bed were told to make barriers out of pillows/blankets because he couldn't roll over them yet. They followed their instructions to a T.
The rest of these are just random pictures from the trip in no particular order:
| His face in this picture makes me laugh |
| Taking a quick Jedi nap |
| We can't look cute at the same time |
| Where are you going? |
And now, also in no particular order, here are the rest of the pictures from when he was 6 months old:
The picture doesn't do it justice, but it made me laugh to see him laying there with his arms out like that |
I was surprised to look down and see that he had gotten himself over the the chair and was trying to figure out if he could eat it |
| I LOVE watching them together <3 |
I'm really trying to be better at taking pictures of myself with Liam. To be honest, I don't like what I look like right now. But I know that I'll regret it later if I don't have more pictures of us. |
| I love that he can just fold in half |
| Look at how deprived he is *rolls eyes* |
I was all prepared for him to be grumpy and cuddly all day after getting his 6 month shots. But look at that champ |
This one made me laugh so hard. He decided that it was time to be awake at a really STUPID time of the morning, so I ignored him while I ate breakfast in the hopes that he would get sleepy and we'd be able to go back to bed. When I looked down I saw that he had gotten himself out of the monkey chair and FALLEN ASLEEP in that position |
He graduated from putting things on his face to wrapping himself in things and... |
| ...occasionally fall asleep that way |
This was on his 7 month birthday. We were at Walmart and he held my hand like this for most of the trip
And that's finally it for Liam's 7 month post! Happy Late 7 months Liam!
